BEGIN

Identity begins with a name, place of birth, genetic origin, and continues through personal and social experiences.

Identity is fluid, and continues to changes throughout your life, over time. This is due to beliefs, moral codes, political, and cultural circumstances.

SOCIAL & PERSONAL

In our daily living and social interactions, we navigate our way through 3 main areas of identity: 1, the way others see, perceive, and label you to be. 2, How you see yourself, and the ideal image of self you construct in your mind. Relating to self-concept, self-image, self-esteem, and a sense of your unique individuality. 3. Who and what you really are, regardless of varied perceptions.

POLITICAL

The politics of identity is based on Race, Nationality, Ethnicity, Religion, Gender, Class, Social Background, Caste, and Sexual Orientation. In politics, these labels generally used by leading authorities, results in Systemic Oppression, Marginalisation, and Discrimination.

The Big Question is this, how will it be possible to end this type of categorising, political oppression, and change our lives?

The internal change of decolonising your mind, is definite. Many people also suggest, the external solution is to develop a sense of belonging to a community, for collective action. Your Life Matters! Jasmine James.
