BRIXTON – From JA to UK – OK!

The Exhibition

During the 1940s, apart from the great numbers of people recruited in the armed forces, and the call to support the rebuilding of a nation. Jamaicans have contributed much to the economic, cultural and social life of Britain. From the Thatcherite era, Operation Trident, and new incoming governments in the twenty first century with the Windrush Scandal, they all seem to have betrayed the long standing relationship and friendship between the people of the two islands.
Yet, woven into the fabric of popular lifestyles within the major cities of England, the facts and evidence are there, the Jamaican input remain visible and real.
