Ideograph of the spiritual new-clear.

Among the vast range and number of global changes happening around the world at the same time in the present moment, climate change is a major wake-up call, while the pandemic Covid-19 offered the chance for individual introspection and reflection, on what are really the most important things in life.

For all world leaders and political governments, the current events have highlighted the desperate need for cooperation and working together, in order to secure the future for everyone and everything on this planet we call home. Above all, what can individuals do to feel as if they have some control over what is happening in their life? Remember we are all in this thing together.

Stepping in this new dream of a better tomorrow that is now here, the methods of change into a renewed and evolving mind, was clearly illustrated in a speech delivered at the United Nations General Assembly, for the world council of leaders eighteen session, October 1963 in New York USA. The elder stateman King of Kings – Emperor Haile Selassie1 of Ethiopia, explained in the extract below of the speech he delivered at the conference, what every government leader needs to do in order to manage effectively the changes occurring all over the world:

“The problems which confronts us today are unprecedented, they have no counterpart in human experience. Men search the pages of history for solutions, for precedents but alas, there is none to be found. This then is the ultimate challenge, where are we to look for our survival, for answers to questions that have never been asked before?

We must look first to the Almighty God, who have raised man above the animals and have endowed him with intelligence and reason, we must put our faith in Him that he will not desert us or permit us to destroy mankind which is created in His image.

We must look into ourselves, into the depths of our souls, we must become something we have never been, and which our education, experience and environment have ill-prepared us. We must become bigger than we have been, more courageous, greater in spirit, larger in outlook. We must become members of a new race, owing our allegiance not to nations but to our fellow men in the humanity community.”

The above brief extract of the speech by the emperor, is not only of use for leaders in government but can be useful to every individual searching for solutions to problems of everyday living in these perilous times. The crisis of the whole wide world in chaos, and the levels of confusion twenty-one years into the twenty first century, is much more than challenging, it is numbing and extremely frightening.

Revisiting the speech of the wise elder statesman can only be highly beneficial, the directives given by his majesty is a sign of hope and a motivating factor for all individuals who are proactive. Change is the only constant in a changing world. We should not simply be driven to pursue progress achieved through the advance and commands of science and technology. A personal action that would also be good in this present dilemma, is an organic growth towards higher levels of consciousness.

The break through in new technologies accelerates the rate and speed of change. One of the many reactions to change, are the relentless resistance and push against it, in fearful attempts to remain the same. Another is to dive headlong into all things new, without caution or due considerations. The best way to deal with change is to change according to the changing times, in a manner and at a pace you can sustain, progress and prosper. Complexities arrives when simplicity is divided! Father Simple.
